Images to GIF maker — combine photos into a slideshow GIF
Gifsy's images to GIF maker combines JPG, PNG or WebP photos into one looping GIF: each photo shows for the time you set, in the order you add them. Download a 480 × 480 GIF: free, no sign-up, no watermark, and the photos never leave this tab.

How a slideshow GIF is built
Each photo becomes one frame, centre-cropped to a 480 × 480 square, and shows for the same length of time — 0.2 to 1.5 seconds — before a hard cut to the next. Every frame gets its own 256-colour palette, so unrelated photos keep their colours. Turn on Boomerang and, with three or more photos, it plays forward and then back.

Photos that make a good slideshow GIF
- Works best
- A set that belongs together: one trip, one product, one day
- The same orientation — all portrait or all landscape
- Subjects near the middle, since each photo is cropped square
- 0.5–0.8 s per photo for a readable slideshow
- Works worst
- Mixing portrait and landscape shots, which crop very differently
- Dozens of photos — each one is a full frame, so the file grows fast
- Photos with text near the edges, which the square crop cuts
- Needing crossfades or captions — this tool only cuts
Questions
Sending it to Slack, Discord or GitHub? Check the GIF size limits. Starting from a phone burst? See how to turn burst photos into a GIF.
How many photos can I add?
At least two, with no fixed maximum. Every photo is a full 480 × 480 frame with its own palette, so the file grows with each one — the four-photo example here is about 300 KB, and each extra photo adds roughly as much again.
Can I change the order?
Photos play in the order you add them, and there's no drag-to-reorder yet. To change the order, remove the photos and add them again in the order you want.
Can I add crossfades or text?
No — it cuts straight from one photo to the next, and there's no text tool. For a crossfade, ezgif's GIF maker has one; for captions, use an editor before or after.
Can the slideshow play back and forth?
Yes. Turn on Boomerang with three or more photos and it plays them forward, then in reverse. With a burst of near-identical shots, that becomes a boomerang GIF.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
Free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many GIFs you make. The only paid thing on Gifsy is credits for the separate 3D model tool.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The frames are drawn and the GIF is encoded by JavaScript in your browser tab; this tool has no upload endpoint. You can check in your browser's Network tab, or turn Wi-Fi off after your first GIF (which loads the encoder) and make another.

Make it move in real 3D
A GIF effect moves the whole picture. A 3D photo separates the subject from the background and lets a visitor tilt it on your page — real parallax from one photo, with an embed code for any website.
